GDPR and your data

This information accompanies the Privacy Policy we provided for your attention during ticket registration. In summary: The data collected will be used by Obvious Things Ltd to plan and manage the New Adventures event for which you have registered, as well as to email you relevant details relating to the event. If you registered for a workshop you consent to us providing your name and email address to the workshop leader should he/she wish to provide material or information prior to the workshop. We will hold your data for as long as you are a registered ticketholder leading up to the event, during the event, and in the period leading up to our next event. Should we cease operating New Adventures, we will remove all customer data.

Tracking, Cookies, IP addresses, statistics

For our September 2018 relaunch we have opted to use Matomo, formerly Piwik, a free and open source web analytics application. Tracking tools help us understand how you find us, where you come from, what pages you visit, how long you stay for, and what actions you perform. This is always entirely anonymous. We learn which device and operating system you're using, which browser you're using, and your location based on IP, but never anything personal about you. Like many, we are moving away from Google Analytics because of concerns about your privacy. We hope to trial an even simpler tracking system, such as the relatively new Fathom, very soon.

Our tracking tools set a cookie. A cookie is a piece of data stored on the user’s hard drive containing information about the user. We do not require any form of login or user account for this website. If a user rejects the cookie, they may still use our site.

An Internet Protocol (IP) address is a numerical identification that your computer or other browsing device sends out. We use cookies and IP addresses to analyse trends, administer the site, track user’s movement, and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use. Cookies and IP addresses are not linked to personally identifiable information.

Secure storage

All of our registrants’ information is restricted on our machines and in our office. Only members of our team who need the information to perform a specific job are granted access to personally identifiable information. No sponsors, speakers or supporters will have access to personal details, except for the names and email address we share with workshop leaders if they need to work with attendees in advance or after a workshop. Workshop attendees have the right to withdraw the sharing of information with workshop leaders and can do so by contacting us.

Neither Simon, Geri, Obvious Things, nor New Adventures will, under any circumstances, share with any third party individual IP addresses, email addresses, personal contact details or other information collected through this website or related statistic tracking systems. If information sharing is required for the purposes of this or any other event, you will be given immediate notice.
