Extras

It wouldn't be New Adventures without some exciting social events, classes, and goodies. We can't reveal everything just yet, but here's all the news that's fit to print.

2013 coverage

Check out all the coverage from our 2013 event. Blog posts, photos, memories, and so much more from the community.

The New Adventures Paper

Download all three issues for FREE. Yes, it's free! The third issue of our legendary newspaper printed by The Guardian is now available for immediate download, featuring brilliant contributions and illustration, plus essential conference info.

Erskine Bowling warmup

Thsi time it's bigger and better than ever! Our friends at Erskine Design have booked the bowling alley again! There’s lots of space, a bar, friendly web people, and much pre-conference excitement. You’ll also be able to collect your badge at this event, saving time the following morning. As ever, team registration will take place closer to the event. AMF Bowling, from 8pm until midnight, Wednesday 23rd January. Map.

Second Wednesday warmup

In 2011 the folks from Second Wednesday put on a great warmup event for us. Well, they're back for 2013. The event is free, and anyone is welcome to come along whether they have a conference ticket or not. There are talks from Robert Mills and Rachel Shillcock. There's also a bar. If bowling doesn't roll your balls, then this is for you. Antenna, 7pm, Wednesday 23rd January. First speaker, 7.30pm, second at 8.15pm, then just hang out. Map.

Ubelly soapbox

Supporting us for the third year are Ubelly. This time they'll be taking over the whole back room, and amongst other things there'll be a soapbox where attendees can present short talks over lunch. More info from Ubelly here.

Exhibitors

We’ll have several wonderful exhibitors at the venue, and we're moving them out of the foyer this year! Expect to meet Five Simple Steps, The Manual, Fontdeck, Perch and a few others. You’ll be able to check out some demos, sign up for services, and buy books. Ask your parents for some spending money.

The after-party

Our usual venue went bankrupt (or something) despite two massive New Adventures bar tabs. This time, we'll be at Alea — a lovely new venue much nearer to the conference. We've two rooms full of comfy seats, there's a smoking balcony, and drinks are free until our tab runs out. Oh, and it's in a massive casino that you're allowed to use. We've also got the music planned, and yes you will be able to hear yourselves think. Thursday 24th from 7.30pm until 2am or something stupid. Map.

Photowalk with Dan and Naomi

Bring your iPhone, Instax, Nikon or Box Brownie and join your Instagram superstar hosts Dan Rubin and Naomi Atkinson on a two or three hour walk around central Nottingham. The route takes in the square, the castle, Robin Hood statue, the oldest pub in England, and the Lace Market, ending in the warmth of Broadway Cinema cafe bar. It's free to attend, so just turn up at the Left Lion (classic Nottingham meeting point) as you face the steps of our grand Council House in the Old Market Square. Friday 25th, meeting at 10am sharp. Download the guide (ZIP).

Fr00tball

Our slightly competitive hangover-busting football tournament returns. Yet again, we're offering you the opportunity to play five-a-side in a non-judgemental environment where everyone regardless of talent, gender, or length of shorts is welcome to play or watch. Team registration is now open. Friday 25th, from 1pm until 4pm at the Forest recreation ground.

Free business cards from MOO

The mighty MOO are offering every attendee 50 free business cards. We'll provide more details in the attendee mailouts so you can get busy designing yours, and all cards will be available for collection at the event. Pretty sweet, right?

And much more besides!

Watch out on the day for some wonderful prize giveaways, including a spanking new iPad Mini thingy. Oh, and there will be goodies. Lots of goodies. And cupcakes. And hangovers, probably.
